Travel and mobility

Oberlech is a district of Lech am Arlberg at 1,750 metres above sea level – particularly sunny and quiet. We are located above the car-free Oberlech and can be reached by car, bus or Taxi. From Zurich Airport, there are Arlberg Express shuttle buses or taxi transfers, or Der Lecher taxi service directly to Lech.

You can drive directly to the apartment and park in our underground car park. In winter we recommend snow chains as the last section is quite steep.

There are several restaurants in Oberlech. You can search for restaurants in Lech and reserve a table via the table4U platform. For shopping, you will need to go to Lech – there are no supermarkets in Oberlech.

By the Oberlech cable car, on foot (approx. 30 minutes) or by bus. The nearest bus stop is ‘Oberlech Schlössle’, just a few metres from the apartments. During the high season, the bus runs every 30 minutes. For night owls: from around 7 p.m. onwards, the JAMES night bus also runs hourly the night (small fee). Taxis are also available, of course.

Head down to Lech, then take bus 750 (towards Langen Bhf.) or 760 (towards St. Anton am Arlberg) to Zürs. Buses run every half hour to every hour. Alternatively, use Der Lecher taxi service.

Winter season and equipment

The ski season at Arlberg begins in early December and ends mid/late April. Detailed information can be found at skiarlberg.at.

Lech am Arlberg and Ski Arlberg are considered extremely reliable in terms of snow, as the ski area is one of the snowiest regions in Europe with an average of nine metres of natural snow per season. Thanks to the high altitude (1,400 m – 2,800 m), favourable weather conditions (between Verwall and Lechquellengebirge) and extensive artificial snowmaking, the best conditions are guaranteed from December to April, making the season longer than average.

Ski Arlberg comprises around 300 kilometres of slopes with 85 ski lifts and cable cars. This makes it the largest ski resort in Austria and one of the five largest in the world.

Snow conditions: The Arlberg ski area is located at an altitude of 1,300–2,800 metres and has excellent snow conditions throughout the season. Crowds: Lech is busiest between the end of December and the end of February.

You can purchase your ski passes online in the Ski Arlberg web shop. You can then print out your ski pass or collect your deposit at any time from the self-service machines in Lech or Zürs.

An adult ski pass for five days costs around € 390 during peak season. But be sure to check: prices can change from year to year. You can find detailed information at skiarlberg.at

There are many places to hire winter equipment in Lech am Arlberg. For example, Skiservice Strolz, Intersport Arlberg, Sport Huber and many more.

Yes, there is a shared ski room with boot dryer in the entrance area.

Yes, there is the Oberlech Ski School. Children, teenagers and adults can learn to ski or snowboard in a group or in private lessons.

The Arlberg ski resort is very well suited for beginners and children. There are many blue slopes as well as practice areas for children with conveyor belts.

Lama has a fitness room, sauna and infrared cabin. Lech and Oberlech offer beautiful winter hiking trails, cross-country skiing routes and toboggan runs. Or you can enjoy the sun and the view in peace on your own apartment terrace.

We offer ski-in/ski-out access: you can buckle up your skis or snowboard right outside the house and head straight out onto the slopes. You can also ski home right up to the front door.

During the summer months, the mountain railways and the tourist board offer the ‘Lech Card’ guest card, which allows you to use lifts, buses and other services at a reduced rate or free of charge. With the Lech Card, our guests staying for one night or more can enjoy the full range of summer activities on offer in Lech Zürs am Arlberg. The 2-day Lech Card is ideal for short breaks.
